Susan Mendelson is a Vancouver legend. Her pioneering catering company, The Lazy Gourmet, has been preparing outstanding West Coast cuisine for over 35 years. She has a generosity of spirit that affects everyone around her.

For this cookbook, I chose to emphasize Susan's personality. Instead of a glamorous food shot on the cover, I created an illustration that evoked her wholesomeness and lively charisma. The interior layout is seasoned with eclectic chapter patterns and an inventive typographic approach.
