Concerned for the majestic mature evergreen trees being cut down in her neighbourhood artist/activist Victoria Moulder decided she wanted to help protect these trees. Inspired by the extensive research of forest ecologist Suzanne Simard and her astounding discovery that trees communicate through a complex, symbiotic system of fungal networks. 

At the hub of these networks stands what Simard calls “mother trees.” Strength in connection is the genesis of Be Mother Tree website. A part retail part fundraising awareness website to promote awareness and appreciation of this vital forest network. To do our part to maintain the health of old-growth forests so we can in return be supported by it.
